MindFul Decisions is community-based interchangeable "Arts and Humanities" social-emotional program that assists young people to acquire and apply knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals and feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships.
To improve communication and concentration that can help reduce feelings of isolation which creates intentional behavior. This form of programming will lead to increased self-esteem, confidence, and self-awareness.
Our one-year program objectives include:
1) Continuing weekly meetings with our enrolled participants and their families;
2) Provide social resources and support to our parents of enrolled participants; and
3) Utilize the creative process to help people explore self-expression and, in doing so, find new ways to gain personal insight and develop new coping skills.
4) Understand the importance and purpose of the bigger vision and redirect your mind and actions to help you achieve it.
Some of the activities that we plan to include in our home visits include:
Cooking lessons that incorporate easy-to-prepare and nutritious food; that will provide instant gratification
Enrich and expand our curriculum by visiting different places that will enhance Academic Growth, Deepen Engagement, Enhance Critical Thinking and Real-World Experiences, and Cultural Growth
The introduction of socialization through the playing of the board and card games;
Creating activities that will combat loneliness and depression and lack of mental stimulation.
Our vision with MindFul Decisions is to create intentional behavior via therapy. These practices will foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, and reduce and resolve conflicts and distress.
