WE ARE.

KonsiderDis has a rich legacy of empowering and supporting underserved and economically challenged communities, particularly the Ward 8 Community, by fostering deliberate behavioral change through art and humanities. Our initiative began in response to the needs, aspirations, and societal circumstances of Black and Brown individuals, aiming for a profound influence on the positive evolution of inner-city families.

Our Founder

Established in 2017, KonsiderDis has been instrumental in fostering creative community engagement through Arts, Humanities, and Park-Based Health initiatives. Collaborating with a range of community organizations, we have positively impacted over 3,000 community members of diverse ages and backgrounds.

Our founder, a lifelong DC resident, entrepreneur, and author deeply connected to Ward 8, brings a wealth of case management experience from various DC agencies and nonprofit sectors. With over a decade of media expertise, she has hosted and produced radio shows broadcasted on FM, AM, and Telecast radio platforms throughout the DMV. Evolving into facilitation, she now shares her skills in Radio Production, On-Air Talent, Audacity, and more.

Our innovative strategies cultivate a vibrant cultural environment, adeptly addressing the changing needs of the community while upholding a strong foundation of activities such as classes, camps, performances, residencies, outreach programs, and workshops that promote intergenerational dialogue.

Moreover, KonsiderDis maintains enduring partnerships with a variety of community-based organizations, enriching community engagement and cultural experiences in Wards 6, 7, and 8. These collaborations have empowered thousands of residents and families to utilize parks for music, play, learning, and holistic health, encompassing mental, physical, environmental, civic, and nutritional dimensions across the DMV region.
