Happy Black History Month! This time of year serves as a powerful reminder of the rich legacy of our ancestors and the incredible contributions they made to shape our world. This month is not just about reflecting on the past; it's also an opportunity to celebrate the future creators, leaders, and change-makers who will continue to carry our culture forward Each day, I think about the stories of resilience, brilliance, and courage that have paved the way for us. From trailblazers like Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr. to contemporary figures like Amanda Gorman and Ta-Nehisi Coates, our history is filled with individuals who dared to dream and fought for a better tomorrow.
Their legacies inspire me to teach my children the importance of their own voices and the impact they can have on the world As we honor our past, let’s also uplift the young creators in our communities—artists, writers, scientists, and activists—who are forging their paths and making waves in their respective fields. It’s essential to encourage our children to express themselves, explore their passions, and embrace their identities. They are the future, and their creativity and innovation will shape the narrative of our community for generations to come This month, let’s engage in meaningful conversations with our children about Black history, culture, and the importance of representation.
We can support Black-owned businesses, attend local events, and share stories of both historical and contemporary figures who inspire us. By doing so, we not only honor our past but also ignite a sense of pride and purpose in the next generation Together, let’s celebrate Black History Month by acknowledging where we came from and nurturing the future creators who will continue to uplift our community.

The journey is ongoing, and I am filled with hope for what lies ahead. Happy Black History Month to all!
